Teaching

The art of making music is ultimately about communicating your musical ideas as honestly and as clearly as possible regardless of your instrument or the instrument of your training. But it is also a craft, one that has been handed down to us through the ages, especially here in Vienna. Technique matters when it is at the service of musical expression. Once a technical foundation is established, one is then free to concentrate on the art. During our work together, we will not only work on the craft but also on historical, philosophical and artistic relationships. Culture does not exist in a vacuum and you will be encouraged to visit museums and will be assigned readings to better appreciate context.
